30 December 2025

The minimum height for climbing in a climbing forest is an important question for many visitors. At a climbing forest, there are clear height and age requirements to climb safely. These rules ensure that everyone can use the climbing equipment properly and reach all obstacles safely.

Minimum length of climbing forest: 1.20 metres

You may climb in a climbing forest from 1.20 metres tall and a minimum age of 6 years. This height requirement climbing forest is not arbitrarily chosen, at this height you can:

  • Properly operate the climbing equipment and safety equipment
  • Reaching the obstacles and barriers safely
  • Using the safety cable at the correct height
  • Independent climbing under supervision

Both criteria must be met: so you must be both at least 6 years old and at least 1.20 metres tall.

Orange routes: climbing from 1.20 metres

Are you 1.20 metres tall? Then you may start on the orange climbing routes. These routes are specially designed for:

  • Younger climbers from 6 years
  • Smaller visitors just meeting the minimum length
  • Beginners wishing to learn about the climbing forest

The orange routes have fuse cables hanging at a lower height. This allows children and smaller climbers to reach the cables easily and use them safely. These junior routes offer real climbing challenges, but are tailored to young adventurers in terms of height and difficulty.

Climbing from 1.40 metres: all routes accessible

From a height of 1.40 metres, all options open up. You will then have access to the other routes. If you are also over 10 years old, you can also do the free fall and bungee.

The regular routes hang higher and are more technically challenging than the orange routes. The height requirement of 1.40 metres ensures that you:
