Klimbos Assen opened with celebration

It's here! Klimbos Assen was festively opened today by alderman Rasker. Under the watchful eye of invited guests, visitors and Klimbos staff, Assen's newest attraction was officially put into use.

Klimbos Assen is the sixth Klimbos Nederland location and the first in the north of the country. Director Rodrick de Wolff says: “We have spent months designing and building the routes. We worked incredibly hard in all weathers. And with results: There are seven great routes built!”Ciaran Barsema, director of Klimbos Nederland, adds: “With this location, we have even better coverage across the country and can offer even more people a fantastic climbing experience.“

Councillor Rasker also particularly sees added value for the city. “The Baggelhuizerplas attracts many visitors all year round. With the new treetop adventure course, we are adding a wonderful attraction, and as a municipality, we are further enhancing the appeal of the Baggelhuizerplas this year with new climbing frames on the play island, a beautiful circular swimming jetty, and additional facilities for cyclists. This way, residents of Assen and tourists alike can enjoy this beautiful area even more."

After the official opening, there was ample opportunity to experience the forest for yourself. Visitors immediately headed for the trails, children's parties were already being celebrated, and influencer Thibo Brockbernd was present for a meet & greet. Location manager Roos van Marrewijk looks back on a memorable day: “What a great day! We already enjoyed the routes ourselves, but to see that the guests enjoyed it so much makes me even prouder..”
