31 March 2023
This year, Klimbos Achterhoek celebrates its 10th anniversary, which was celebrated on 31 March. Under the watchful eye of guests and Klimbos staff, the new climbing route was also festively opened by alderman Gerjan Teselink.
In 2013, Klimbos Achterhoek was opened in Ruurlo. Bert van Zijtveld, owner of De Heikamp was looking for an experience to add to Ruurlo and partnered with Klimbos Netherlands to develop Klimbos Achterhoek. "And with success! Because together we have developed this amazing climbing forest and continued to adapt it over the years." And it still appears to be successful! Because 10 years later, the Klimbos is still there and many guests know how to find and experience it every year. Alderman Teselink also agrees: "The Klimbos is a great addition to the recreational offer in the region. Not only residents of the municipality know how to find it, but it is also an important draw for tourism."
The anniversary celebration was made extra festive as the new climbing route, Route Black, was also opened. Director Rodrick de Wolff explains: "The need for a new and more challenging route was growing. With route Black, this need is met, you can even go up to 20 metres high!" Site manager Dirk Liebrand adds: "The view from route black is fantastic!"
