- Green route: For novice climbers getting used to the altitude
- Blue and red route: medium-difficult courses with more challenge
- Black route: for experienced climbers and daredevils
- Grey route: For the extreme climbing experience, there is the bungee and free fall
With locations in Apeldoorn, Assen, Bergen op Zoom, Dordrecht, Lage Vuursche and Ruurlo, there is always a climbing forest near you!
Active together outdoors: the benefits of climbing with children
Three hours of climbing fun means more than just exercise. Children develop motor skills, self-confidence and perseverance while climbing trees. Parents can climb along or encourage and take photos from the ground. It is a shared experience for the whole family
During the visit:
- Teaching climbers to overcome fear of heights
- Working family members together on challenges
- Experience nature in a unique way
- Forgot his phones for a moment, only using them to take pictures
Plan your visit to Klimbos Netherlands
A visit to the climbing forest requires some preparation. Book online in advance through the website to avoid disappointment, especially on weekends and holidays. Put on sturdy shoes (no flip-flops), wear sporty clothes and leave valuables at home. For the first 30 minutes, you will receive instruction on the safety system, after which you will enter the routes independently.
Tip: Combine your climbing visit with a picnic in the nature reserves to have a day full of outdoor adventure.
Frequently asked questions
Children can climb in the junior routes from 6 years and a minimum height of 1.20 metres. Up to 15 years, an accompanying adult (18+) must be present in the forest. Parents don't necessarily have to climb with you, but it's fun of course!
Your outing at the climbing forest will last about 3 hours. This includes the mandatory 30-minute safety instruction. Most families stay the full three hours and do several courses. Do plan extra time for arrival, parking and changing clothes if necessary.
Online booking is strongly recommended, especially in school holidays, weekends and during nice weather. We work with time slots due to limited capacity climbing belts. Buying tickets at the box office is possible, but places are not guaranteed.
