Located between Baarn and Hilversum, a stone's throw from Amersfoort, in the middle of the forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, you will find Klimbos Lage Vuursche. The largest climbing forest in the Netherlands! Clamber through barrels, zipline through the trees or climb to great heights. Challenge and fun for young and old!
The climbing forest
At Klimbos Lage Vuursche, you'll find no fewer than 11 climbing routes that take you up to 23 metres high! This makes it the largest climbing forest in the Netherlands! For everyone from 6 years of age and with a minimum height of 1.20 metres, there are the 5 orange routes. Here you climb through barrels, balance on cables and clamber along nets. There is even a junior zip wire route. A great adventure for young and old.
Are you taller than 1.40 metres? Then you can choose from 6 additional routes, structured like ski runs: from blue (easy) to black (very challenging). The higher the colour intensity, the more challenging the route and the more spectacular the views. For daredevils, there is also a bungee and free fall. Do you dare?
After an afternoon of climbing in Lage Vuursche, you must have gotten hungry. Fortunately, Klimbos Lage Vuursche has its own kiosk where you can go for a sandwich, ice cream or a nice cup of coffee and muffin. So you can recharge yourself for even more fun.

It is not compulsory, but we definitely recommend it! By making a reservation, you are guaranteed a climbing spot. As we work with a limited number of starting spots per instruction, if you do not make a reservation, you may have to wait until the next round of instruction.
A visit to the climbing forest lasts 3 hours. You start with a safety instruction of about 30 minutes and then you can climb independently for another 2.5 hours.
Super safe! We work with a continuous safety system. This means that you secure yourself at the start of a climbing route and can only release yourself at the end. In addition, your climbing outing starts with a compulsory safety instruction, where we teach you everything you need to know about climbing.
No, you can just come and climb in your "normal" clothes. Just make sure you can move around comfortably in your outfit and that you wear closed shoes.
