At the beginning of the climbing season, on 21 March, the second edition of the National Climbing Forest Day was organised by 16 climbing locations in the Netherlands. The day not only celebrated the climbing forest (literally), but also raised funds at the same time, contributing to a better and more forested environment.
Like the first edition, a donation was raised for charity Trees for All during the National Klimbosdag. On Thursday 30 May, the cheque was handed over at the Trees for All office in Utrecht. Compared to last year, the donation increased. "Besides being very excited about National Climbing Day, we also really like the idea of giving something back to the nature we use with our climbing forests. And it's extra nice that this donation was made possible by our climbers", said Simone Dijkhuis of Klimbos Netherlands.
With the donation raised, more than 260 trees can be planted. "Trees for All is committed to a forested world worldwide. But we can only do that thanks to the support of partners, like the National Climbing Woods Day So we are very happy about that! It is great to see how the climbing locations involve their climbers during the National Climbing Day to contribute to a better and wooded environment. This way, we increase the amount of forest in the Netherlands and make even more people aware of the importance of trees.", said Timo Stemerdink of Trees for All.

Simone Dijkhuis (Klimbos Netherlands) hands over the cheque to Timo Stemerdink (Trees for All) on behalf of National Climbing Day.
Again in 2025, we hope to raise a nice donation. Indeed, the National Klimbos Day will be organised once again.
