The climbing forest hosts many children's parties. Colleague Judith wrote down her experience with a children's party:
As I arrive with chips and lemonade, Lauren's friends are singing at the top of their voices. This is because it is Lauren's birthday and he is celebrating his children's party at our climbing forest.
Lauren enthusiastically tells me why he was so keen to go to the climbing forest to celebrate his birthday. I have been here once before with another children's party and then it was so much fun that I wanted to come for my own birthday party too!"
After dinner, I meet the children in the forest. They are again enthusiastically continuing to climb and play. Not only do the children love it, the parents enjoy it too! Lauren's parents take photos and look at the happy children. Lauren's mother says she loves that the kids enjoy climbing outside in nature so much. She also says: "One of the children finds climbing a little more difficult, but the others encourage. Very nice to see them helping each other at such a young age!"
Just before Lauren and his friends go home, they stop by the ticket office to pick up a present and have a closing photo taken. The children run around happily and proudly hold their climbing diploma in the air. They talk about everything they have climbed, how tough they consider themselves and that it was exciting, but above all, cool!
When all the guests have left, I chat with my colleagues. "It is always so much fun to see how we can make the birthday boy or girl have a great day in our climbing forest!" says colleague Ingrid.
Another colleague adds: "During the instruction, they could hardly wait to go climbing themselves, so excited were they!" We laugh and all agree that the children's happiness is contagious. A successful day for the birthday boy, is a present for us too! And with a smile, we say goodbye to each other. Done for the day and already looking forward to the next children's parties!
