Is climbing in a climbing forest safe for children and adults? At Klimbos Netherlands, safety is always number one. With certified equipment, experienced instructors and a continuous fuse system, visitors can enjoy their climbing adventure carefree. This article explains the safety measures we take and what you can do yourself to ensure a safe experience.
All Klimbos locations of Klimbos Netherlands work with a continuous securing system. This means that climbers are always attached to the lifeline from the moment they enter a course until the end.
The climbing equipment you receive includes:
Before each visit, you will receive a comprehensive safety instruction lasting about 30 minutes. Experienced instructors will demonstrate the fuse system and let you practice on the demo course. They remain available for questions and supervise the site.
In addition to technical security, there are rules of conduct that contribute to everyone's safety:
Mandatory rules:
When will the climbing forest be closed?
In case of thunderstorms or very strong winds, some routes are temporarily closed. The safety of visitors always comes first. In light rain, the forest remains open - climbing in the rain is just an extra adventure! Don't worry, we constantly monitor weather conditions.
Medical conditions and physical fitness
Are you pregnant, have heart problems, epilepsy or had recent operations? If so, always consult your doctor first. Climbing requires basic fitness and a sense of balance. If in doubt, instructors can advise on site whether certain routes are suitable.
Wear sporty clothes you can move freely in and sturdy closed shoes with tread (hiking boots or sturdy trainers are ideal). No skirts, dresses or wide clothes that can snag. For long hair: make a low ponytail or bun.
In case of thunderstorms, the routes are immediately cleared for safety. We see on the spot how to give the remaining climbing time. In rain, clouds or light wind, the climbing forest remains open. The forest offers natural shelter and climbing in the rain is especially exciting for many.
No, all visitors use Klimbos Netherlands' climbing belts. These materials are specially approved for our fuse system and are checked regularly. This guarantees a safe and uniform climbing experience for everyone.
Each of the locations is unique, but one thing they have in common is the beautiful surroundings.
All our climbing forests are located in real forests, where we do not use climbing poles. This gives you the best climbing experience! We build and maintain the routes ourselves and they are inspected externally for safety. Our staff is trained to give safety instructions and to give you the best experience. A day you will never forget!
