Klimbos Gooi-Eemland in Lage Vuursche celebrates tenth anniversary with new climbing route

12 May 2023

This year, Klimbos Gooi-Eemland celebrates its 10th anniversary, which was celebrated on 12 May. Under the watchful eye of guests, Klimbos staff, alderman and mayor, the newest climbing route, Orange V, was also festively opened! This new climbing route makes the Klimbos in Lage Vuursche the largest Klimbos in the Netherlands!

In 2013, Klimbos Gooi-Eemland was opened in Lage Vuursche. The beautiful Pijnenburg Estate was the location for Klimbos Netherlands' fourth climbing forest. A super spot, because 10 years later, the Klimbos is more popular than ever! Alderman Prakke also agrees: "The tenth anniversary of Klimbos Gooi-Eemland, located in the beautiful forests around Lage Vuursche, is justifiably cause for celebration. The climbing forest is not only an exciting attraction for young and old, but also teaches how beautiful and important greenery and trees are in our nature. This fits well with Forest Baarn, which values the green appearance of our living environment. And with the new route, recreational climbing among the trees becomes even more attractive."

The ten-year anniversary of the climbing forest was also reason to build a new, eleventh, climbing route. Director Ciaran Barsema explains: "The climbing forest in Lage Vuursche is very popular and we noticed that an additional junior route would be a great addition. Fortunately, there was enough space and with this new climbing route, the Klimbos is even more attractive! Especially families with younger children and children's parties can come and climb to their heart's content without much congestion!" Site manager Matthijs Buisman adds: "Really super cool that this also made us the largest climbing forest in the Netherlands!"

Klimbos Gooi-Eemland is part of Klimbos Nederland with a total of 5 locations, namely Klimbos Achterhoek, Klimbos Brabantse Wal, Klimbos Dordrecht, Klimbos Gooi-Eemland and Klimbos Veluwe. Each Klimbos has different routes offering 3 hours of climbing fun for young and old.
