Railsport Netherlands organises some 35 events a year for the railway companies affiliated to them. Employees of these companies (and their families) can participate in such events. On Sunday 2 June, such an event took place at Klimbos Lage Vuursche.
The aim of these events is to give employees of member companies experience of sport and exercise in a low-threshold way. The Klimbos suits this perfectly. Denice Sprengers, event manager at Railsport Netherlands, says" We were in the Biesbosch for a site visit of our SUP event and got talking to one of the employees of Klimbos Dordrecht. On his advice, we contacted Ciaran and Rodrick (ed. owners Klimbos Nederland). The enormous enthusiasm was contagious and we were immediately hooked."
The enthusiasm exuded by the owners was also experienced by the other staff at the Klimbos. Communication was smooth and everything was clear. The programme was fully customised and this allowed a record number of climbers to be placed on the day.
Employees of Railsport's member companies were also very enthusiastic. In record time, the maximum number of registrations was reached and the day was completely full!
On the day itself, there was a tight schedule with an instructional moment every 15 minutes. After the instruction, the climbers were able to climb independently for 2 hours. Getting it all together logistically was quite a challenge, but the cooperation between Railsport and Klimbos Lage Vuursche went smoothly.
Only smiling faces were seen throughout the day. Many fears were overcome and the freefall was the highlight of the day for the climbers. Everyone who did the freefall was met with loud cheers and applause.
