1. You move with your whole body
First, climbing is a real full-body workout. If you go to a climbing forest, you will soon spend two hours climbing. Being in motion is good for your body. You use muscles you didn't even know you had. You have to hold yourself up on the craziest obstacles and squeeze yourself into all sorts of positions to go from tree to tree. So climbing is good for your balance and agility. After an afternoon of climbing, you're sure to have had your daily work-out!
2. You gain more self-confidence
Besides being good for your body, climbing also gives you self-confidence when you overcome your fears. Do you dare to climb the highest route or go down the bungee? Climbing is exciting. Beforehand, you might never have thought you would dare to cross that one scary part, but you did it anyway! You push your limits and this boosts your self-confidence.
3. You increase your ability to concentrate
We have already mentioned it briefly: in climbing, you have the craziest obstacles to overcome in all sorts of positions. This requires your utmost concentration and focus. So you train your ability to concentrate during all the tricky courses you have to take. This is super handy to apply back in your daily life.
4. You are delightfully outdoors
In a climbing forest, you are enjoying the outdoors. Because who wants to sweat in a musty gym when you can do it in the fresh air? You enjoy all the sounds and smells of the forest while climbing. Fresh air is also very good for your body and mind. You take in vitamin D and the outdoor air is a lot healthier than the air you breathe indoors. Did you know that being outside for a day makes you sleep better?
5. It is very cosy
Finally, of course, it is also just hugely enjoyable to spend time in a climbing forest with a group of friends or colleagues. Suddenly you are in a different setting and get to know each other in a different way. You also do some team-building: you encourage each other and help each other if someone doesn't dare to go any further. After climbing, the team spirit is back in full force!
So what's stopping you from climbing? Come along and experience all these positive effects in personn corpse!
